Overview
Foreign nationals enrolling in approved Muay Thai training may be eligible for a Non-Immigrant ED visa. The institution and program must meet applicable requirements and provide supporting documents. Some prospective students may instead qualify for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), which has different conditions.
Who can apply
- Applicants need evidence of an eligible Muay Thai program and the required support from the training provider.
- Additional endorsement or approval may be required by the relevant authority.
- Attendance and continued participation are matters for the program and immigration conditions.
Financial requirements
- The required financial documents depend on the receiving embassy or consulate and the proposed visa route.
- Training fees are separate from immigration charges.
Visa validity and permission to stay
An ED visa does not automatically give a one-year continuous stay. An initial stay may be up to 90 days, and later extensions depend on the approved program and Immigration decisions. The DTV, where suitable, has five-year multiple-entry validity and generally allows up to 180 days per entry.

- Passport, application photograph and application form.
- Acceptance or enrollment letter describing the training program and its duration.
- Approvals or supporting documents from the relevant authorities where required.
- Financial evidence and other documents requested by the consulate.
