Muay Thai Education visas enable foreigners to study Muay Thai, a traditional Thai combat sport, in Thailand for an extended period. These visas are specifically designed for those interested in Muay Thai and require enrollment at a certified training center specializing in this discipline.
Enrolment typically requires a minimum commitment of two semesters, with each semester lasting approximately 90 days. However, this is dependent on the certified training center and or present Thailand Immigration requirements.
Upon enrollment, students receive documentation to apply for a Non-Immigrant Category Education (ED) Visa at a Thai embassy or consulate in their home country. The visa is valid for one year and must be renewed every 90 days during training.

- Allows a single entry into Thailand
- Attendance to training mandatory
- Excellent conduct required
- Allows a 90-day stay from the entry date, extendable for up to one year in some cases
- Re-entry permit required if planning to leave Thailand during the visa period
Application Procedures
- Complete the visa application form
- Gather the necessary documents:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least two blank pages
- Passport-sized photograph
- Acceptance letter from the educational institution in Thailand or relevant organization
- Financial evidence proving sufficient funds (e.g., bank statement)
- Proof of accommodation in Thailand
- Travel itinerary or airline ticket
- Submit the documents to the designated Thai Embassy or Consulate
- Pay the visa processing fee
Visa Eligibility Criteria
ED visas can only be obtained outside of Thailand and all applicants must have a clean criminal record verification and adhere to Thailand’s immigration policies.
