Why You Need a Work Permit: A work permit is a legal document that outlines your job description, position, and employer. It’s mandatory for all foreigners wishing to work in Thailand, regardless of visa type.

Step 1: Obtain a Non-Immigrant Visa Before you can apply for a work permit, you need a non-immigrant visa. This visa must be secured before entering Thailand.

Step 2: Apply for the Work Permit With your visa in hand, you can start the work permit application process. This typically takes about 7 business days and is handled by the Ministry of Labor.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must have a non-immigrant or resident visa.
  • Your employer must be ready to provide the necessary documents.
  • Your job must not be on the prohibited list for foreigners.

Required Documents:

For Applicants:

  • 2-inch photo
  • Medical certificate
  • Original passport
  • Letter of employment
  • Degree certificate
  • Thai address

For Employers:

  • Company certificate and objectives
